Start with Your Workflow, Not the Catalogue
Before choosing a sink, map out your kitchen’s daily workflow: where dirty dishes arrive, where food is prepped, and where clean items are stored. The right commercial sink reduces cross-contamination risk and keeps staff moving efficiently. Most professional kitchens need a wash station with one to three bowls, plus a dedicated hand-washing sink — many health codes require a separate hand sink near food prep areas.
How Many Bowls Do You Need?
- Single bowl — suitable for light washing, utility use or as a hand sink. Compact and budget-friendly.
- Double bowl — the most common choice: one bowl for washing, one for rinsing, or one for soaking. Ideal for mid-size restaurants.
- Triple bowl — matches the classic wash → rinse → sanitize sequence required in high-volume kitchens and many food-service operations.
If your menu involves heavy prep, consider a sink with a drainboard or a work platform beside the bowls to keep a clean staging area.
Choose the Right Stainless Steel Grade
Sink bowls come in two mainstream food-grade grades:
- 201 stainless steel — cost-efficient value, suitable for most commercial washing applications with proper maintenance. A good choice when budget matters.
- 304 stainless steel — superior corrosion resistance for food-contact and high-moisture environments; the recommended grade for kitchens that handle acidic foods, salt and aggressive sanitizing agents.
Material thickness also matters: 0.8 mm is standard for light-duty use, while 1.0–1.2 mm panels add rigidity and reduce noise and denting in heavy-use stations. All our sinks are precision-cut, CNC-bent and TIG-welded with smooth seams that are easy to clean.
Sink Configurations That Fit Your Space
Beyond bowls, choose the layout that matches your kitchen:
- Floor-standing sinks with legs and adjustable feet for easy leveling and cleaning underneath.
- Sinks with a platform or drainboard for extra staging space beside the bowls.
- Sinks with cabinet and drawers for concealed storage of cleaning supplies.
- European-style (undermount) sinks and wall-mounted hand sinks for specific design or code requirements.
Don’t Forget Faucets and Accessories
A sink is only as practical as its faucet. Consider pre-rinse spray units for dishwashing stations, gooseneck faucets for pot-filling, and single-hole or deck-mounted faucets matched to your bowl configuration. Confirm your local water pressure and connection standards, and choose faucets with durable, easy-to-service bodies.
